CLASS TITLE: Administrative Assistant (Police Department)

 

DESCRIPTIVE STATEMENT:

This position requires strong knowledge of office and computer skills as well as excellent communication skills. Individual reports to the Police Chief.  Performs clerical, reception, and security related duties.  Handles Security Sensitive Information (SSI).  Assists the chief of police with daily office duties, Transportation Security Directives, and required personnel training.  Keeps, maintains, and audits airport records as outlined by the Airport Security Program (ASP).  Performs other duties as assigned by the chief of police, the airport director, or his/her designee.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Individual performs administrative duties relating to the police department.  Individual must have the ability to interpret federal regulations and recommend procedures that will ensure compliance.  Individual must interact with the public and others in a professional and effective manner. Individual insures compliance with all TSA and Airport rules, regulations, and procedures in order to assign security identification media. Maintains police department reports and records including visitor identification media, parking passes, property reports, incident reports, etc.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Individual should have a working knowledge of customary business office applications. Individual must possess effective time management skills to assist the chief of police or his designee in maintain required departmental schedules. Must possess the ability to operate and monitor radio and other communications equipment. Must possess a motor vehicle operator’s license and have the ability to operate a motor vehicle.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

In addition to the knowledge, skills and abilities listed above, requires a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent and two years of administrative assistant experience.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Employment is contingent upon completion of federally approved 10-year background investigation and/or a background investigation by any law enforcement agency.  Individual must maintain appropriate security clearance. Individual must submit to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with airport rules and regulations. Airport Security Coordinator (ASC) training and certification may be required by the chief of police or the airport director.

 

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF WORK:

Individual may be required to assist in other departments, work during an emergency, or outside normal business hours as deemed necessary by the chief of police, the airport director or his/her designee. Individual may be required to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time.

Pay $10.00 hr

CLASS TITLE:  Housekeeping/Janitor

Department: Facilities

 

DESCRIPTIVE STATEMENT:

This position includes the performance of a variety of housekeeping and janitorial assignments. Due to the nature of this job you must have the ability to work independently.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Daily duties:  clean and stock bathrooms, empty all trash receptacles, sweep and mop all  tile floors, vacuum all carpets, wipe off trashcans, window sills, and counters, sweep in front of terminal(outside) and empty those trash containers.

Weekly duties: polish baggage belt, dust all pictures, wipe off baseboards, water plants, and clean all glass doors.

Twice-Weekly duties: wipe off rockers, seats, black poles, and clean cob webs (if any) out of corners.

Monthly duties: clean all light fixtures and vents in terminal and airline offices, and clean windows in front of the terminal and in the gate area.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Must be able to lift up to seventy (70) pounds and work independently. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to bend, squat, and reach in order to perform some of the required tasks.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of janitorial duties with experience is preferred. A high school diploma is required.
