HUNTINGTON TRI-STATE AIRPORT

EXTERNAL JOB POSTING

POSITION TITLE:                  AIR SERVICE DEVELOPMENT/MARKETING MANAGER

STATUS:                                 EXEMPT

DEPARTMENT:                      MARKETING

REPORTS TO:                         AIRPORT DIRECTOR

STARTING SALARY:              $38,500 - $42,000/ANNUALLY - DOQ

DESCRIPTIVE STATEMENT:

This Manager reports directly to the Airport Director. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase local and national awareness and to support the retention, upgrading, and acquisition of commercial air service for Huntington Tri-State Airport.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Individual works directly with planning, scheduling, and marketing representatives of commercial service airlines and air charters, corporate users, air service consultants, professional airport organizations, marketing agencies, government representatives, business leaders, and the community. 

 

Air Service Development: 

Develop and maintain strong relationships with air carriers and air service consultants.
Develop marketing strategies for retention, upgrading, and acquisition of air service.  Serves as liaison between airport and airline representatives.
Research, track and analyze data to identify target markets.
Prepare and present proposals to airlines.
Prepare and present data/reports for monthly Airport Authority Board Meetings.

 

Marketing:

Develop marketing strategies that promote the airport.
Manage the internal and external advertisement programs.
Monitor and update the Airports website.
Develop and implement exciting social media strategies.  Manages airports social networks.
Create innovative and effective marketing collateral.

 

Public Relations:

Develop strong relationships with industry leaders, government officials, and the community to ensure the airport is meeting expectations.
Engage and educate the community regarding the positive impacts the airport has on the area.  Attends functions and other networking opportunities. 
Acts as public relations liaison between the Airport and the media.
Receives and handles customer complaints.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Individual must have at minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Aviation Management, or other related field.  Three years of relevant work experience required, aviation industry experience preferred.

 

Must have the ability to communicate effectively, prepare clear and concise reports/presentations, and use good business vocabulary.

 

Experience with market research and data analysis preferred.

 

Employment is contingent upon completion of a federal 10-year background investigation and/or a background investigation by any law enforcement agency.  Employee must have a valid driver’s license.  Employee must maintain appropriate security status.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Individual will be required to work during an airport emergency.  Must be available and on call 24/7.  Individual must be willing to travel.
